General instructional objective of undergraduate medical education is to acquire basic clinial competency as a medical doctor. Naturally, that of the preclinical education is to learn basics to be able to practice undergraduate clinical training. Modern medical education requires education for skills (psychomotor domains), attitude (affective domain), in addition to the traditional knowledge (cognitive domain)-based education. Each domain of educational taxonomy has levels or depth of learning. The education is further complicated by the presence of "informal" and "hidden" curricula, other than well-recognized formal (written) curriculum.
