Faculty of Development in Praclinical Education(Symposium "Survival of the fittest faculties in medical schools : nurture of educational capabilities")

General instructional objective of undergraduate medical education is to acquire basic clinial competency as a medical doctor. Naturally, that of the preclinical education is to learn basics to be able to practice undergraduate clinical training. Modern medical education requires education for skills (psychomotor domains), attitude (affective domain), in addition to the traditional knowledge (cognitive domain)-based education. Each domain of educational taxonomy has levels or depth of learning. The education is further complicated by the presence of "informal" and "hidden" curricula, other than well-recognized formal (written) curriculum. Medical teachers must understand such complexity of learning and execute proper educational strategies and evaluation. Such ability needs to be developed because physician educators and basic scientists are generally not trained to educate. Nevertheless, the opportunity to educate others happens not only to educators but to students and interns in various occasions.
